Prayer of the people | September 14

call the community into a time of prayer.

God, we thank you that you are ever loving and trustworthy. Your word is nourishment to our hungering spirits. May we be obedient in our living, seeking you first in all things. When we are unsure, let us lean wholly upon you, living the faith we speak of so readily, and trusting well that your will be done.
In your mercy…

We pray for this community of saint benedict’s table. Gathered together as your body, may we be ambassadors of the grace that we ourselves have experienced. Let us readily pour it out in excess, in the hopes that all may know it. As we come together again this evening, let us be united in our worship of you. May those who thirst, those who are weary and those who ache find the comfort they long for.
In your mercy…

We pray for the greater church throughout the world. May we be reminded daily of the workings of your people within, and well beyond, our immediate horizon. Let your continued blessing flow out upon those who seek to do your will; the Sisters of the Church in Burlington; Lola and Rogers and their ministry in Uganda; and the continued work of Agape Table. May the love that unites us in heart and mind, continue to be the focus of our deeds.
In your mercy…

We pray for the world around us, both near and far. In these times of turmoil and change, may your Spirit move and fill us with a strength and hope foreign to this world. May we rise to the challenges presented, seeking to gift what you have given, breathing life to the world over. And indeed Father, may the peace desired by so many, one day be known to all.
In your mercy…

We pray for the needs of those known to us; for those who are sick or suffering, alone or isolated, or who have other needs and challenges. We offer those names aloud to you now Lord…
For those named, thought of and forgotten,
In your mercy…

As we prepare to take part in the bread and wine, may we be mindful of all that you have done and may we carry this with us into the week that awaits.
