Prayer of the people | September 28

W

e give you thanks and praise, almighty God, for the gift of a world full of wonder, and for our life which comes from you. By your power you sustain the universe. At your command all things came to be: space, galaxies, suns and our planet Earth. We worship you, Lord our Creator.
Lord in your mercy…

We thank you that in you is our life. In you we live and move and have our being and that apart from you we can do nothing. We pray for those who do not know you yet Lord. We pray for the church. We pray that we may be worthy examples of what it means to be your children, so that we may be able to bring more of your people into your kingdom and your fellowship.
Lord in your mercy…

We pray for those in leadership within our community – for our bishops, priests, deacons and all those who minister in our midst. Give them strength.
Lord in your mercy…

Father, may justice reign and righteousness flow like a never-ending stream in this country. We pray for our Prime Minister, premiers and Mayor, and for all of those in whose authority we are under. Give wisdom to our leaders.
Lord in your mercy…

We pray for those who have and those who have not. Thank you for the many blessings amongst us. Lord, through us, feed the hungry. Through us, give water to those who thirst.
Lord in your mercy…

We pray for those who struggle physically and emotionally. May we, your church, be the light of your son Jesus to them. Father, through us, give comfort. Through us, give healing.
Lord in your mercy…

Lord we bring before you those whom we love and those who have asked for prayer.
Lord in your mercy…

We are broken. We are weak, weary & thirsty. Thank you Jesus, that on the cross you became our source of life.
Lord in your mercy…
