Prayer of the people | November 30

A

lmighty God, we your children stand in awe before you today. We praise and worship you, our Majestic God. In your presence the vast earth quakes and the mountains tremble before you. Father, you have done and continue to do great and marvelous things amongst your people. Father, as your word says “For since the world began, no ear has heard, no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him”.

In this season of advent we remember and thank you for the coming of your son into the world. We continue to wait in anxious expectation for your coming again. Come near Lord to those who await your deliverance. We pray for the church, your people who at this time are experiencing persecution. For our brothers and sisters in China, Iran, Israel, as well as those who are denied the freedom to assemble in public to worship you.

Lord in your mercy…

We pray for those who await your provision. For the hungry and the homeless; for those who have and those who have not; for those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. Lord fill us.

Lord in your mercy…

For those for whom our prayers are needed…
For Jamie and Catherine, continue to strengthen and bless them as they minister to us.

Thank you that in the advent, incarnation, death and resurrection of your son, you remember not our iniquities and that you have changed our filthy rags into robes of righteousness. Praise you.

Amen.
