Hear the Silence – Saturday October 20, 7pm at the church – A liturgy of music, readings, prayer, and stillness, led by Gord Johnson and Larry Campbell.
The Sunday 4pm liturgy gathers on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month through the fall, with the next one happening on October 21. This 40 minute liturgy is geared to families with younger children, but is certainly welcoming to people of all ages.
LivingRoom Liturgy – We’ve got one of our house communion events set for Thursday November 1 (All Saints Day) at the home of Bob and Mavis Heinrichs on Westgate. We’re framing this one as an evening on which musicians and songwriters are encouraged to bring along their instruments and songs to share. We’ll have a sign up sheet at the church this Sunday evening, but you can also sign up by contacting us.
ideaExchange – November 6, 7:30pm – Dr. Cathy Campbell – ”Radically Hospitable: Being Church in the midst of Neighbourhood Renewal.” In this session, Cathy will outline the challenges and theology behind converting St Matthew’s Anglican Church – an unsustainable church building in West Central Winnipeg – into a multi-purpose complex called The WestEnd Commons.
An introduction to Christian Meditation – a way of simplicity, silence and inner peace – An introductory session presented by the All Saints congregation and led by Phil Barnett. The session is set for this Wednesday October 17 from 7:30 to 8:30pm, and people from our community are most welcome to attend.
The Emotional Wellness Network is again meeting for an evening of coffee and conversation at Finales Cafe, located at the junction of Marion and St. Mary’s on Tuesday, October 23 at 7pm. The purpose of the Network is to provide support and connection opportunities for those facing mental/emotional challenges and for those who have friends or family members who are facing such challenges.
