Prayers of the People | June 16

May we now come into a time of prayer.

Merciful Lord, we pray for those who put their trust in Christ Jesus, and all who minister in your name. Through places like saint benedict’s table, guide by your living word and spirit your people to walk in the ways of truth and unity: loving you above all, and loving our neighbours as ourselves.

Lord in your mercy                 Hear our prayer.

God of every nation, in places around the world, people live daily with burdens that seem too great to bear. As we give thanks for Agape Table, we ask you to make bold the women and men everywhere who bear witness to your extravagant good news Lord, that their actions would proclaim your abundance and abiding forgiveness to one and all.

Lord in your mercy                 Hear our prayer.

God of grace, although we may be suffering in body, in spirit, or in mind (pause), still we trust in your awesome healing power.  For those known to us, whom we name aloud or in silence, we pray for freedom from sickness, fear, and despair. From our lips to your ears, O God hear the names of your precious children, lifted up to you, in Jesus’ name.

Lord in your mercy,    Hear our prayer.

Eternal God, grant a peaceful end and eternal rest to all who are dying. Hear our cries, we who have put our faith in Christ Jesus, give hope those who mourn. In our grief, reveal the good news of the kingdom of God, and show forth the truth of your rich promises to the whole of your creation.

Lord in your mercy,    Hear our prayer.

Amen.
