Prayers of the People | July 7th

Let us pray. Merciful God, you have shown us what is good. Our lives are forever changed because of your great love for us. Through your Son, you demonstrated that life’s vitality is found in service, giving and caring sacrificially for others. Continually draw us back into your ways we pray. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We lift up the community of saints. Let us not forget the importance of gathering together as your church. We pray for the church in all places. By your Spirit encourage her in the way of Christ our Lord. Forgive the church of her sins, and guide her into your truth. Restore, unite, and draw the church back into your good purposes. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the neighborhoods in which we live. Open our eyes to see your presence there, at work to bring about your new creation in Christ Jesus. Might we join you in your mission, serving and giving as our Lord. May we be as Jesus, loving those around us without any expectation of return. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for those who are grieving, experiencing loss, or struggling. At this time we name aloud those whom you have placed on our hearts. For those named aloud, or in silence, and especially for those for whom we have forgotten to pray, please surround them with your love and care. We commit them to your goodness, and ask for your speedy intercession. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the ministries of Saint Benedict’s Table. We think at this time of those serving at summer camp. We pray for the staff and campers at Manitoba Pioneer Camp. We ask for their continued safety and health during these hot summer months. We pray that Pioneer Camp might be a fun place for the campers and staff, where friendships are formed, memories made, and your presence is experienced. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord, we look to you. All that we have is yours. We are blessed, and we desire to bless others. Continue to draw us into places and circumstances in which we may be your vessels. We commit our ways to yours. To your honor and glory. Amen.
