Prayers of the People | May 18

Lord, you made us to be of one body and of one spirit. Remove from us all false teachings that would divide us and subvert your truth so that we, your people, gathered from all nations, may serve you faithfully in the unity of the faith.

Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

We pray for your Chosen People of Israel and for the peace of Jerusalem. By your grace we have been grafted onto this holy tree of life. Honour your eternal covenants with your Chosen Ones so that your glory will be revealed in Zion and all nations will know that You are God.

Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

Jesus, you remind us today that you are one with the Father, and that what we ask in your name you will do, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. In your name, the chains of death are broken and the curse of sin lies as dust beneath your feet. Let us always remember and cling to the power of your name as we live, pray, and hope in you.

Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

You call us to paths of justice. We pray for nations & leaders, for courts & legislatures, for strife-torn countries, and for our enemies. We hold before you especially the Ukraine & Syria, asking for peaceful resolution to conflict. We pray for Turkey as it copes with its recent mining disaster – comfort and assist the families of all victims. Bring relief to the wildfires of California – protect and aid firefighters as they battle the blazes.

Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

God our refuge, you deliver us in times of trouble. We pray for the rejected & the persecuted, for neglected children, and for the sick, especially those we name before you… for those names out loud and in our hearts, strengthen them with your saving grace.

Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

Jesus, surround with your presence and peace the families of all those who grieve the loss of loved ones. Give us faith to believe in your promise, Jesus, that you’ve gone to prepare a place for us.

Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

We pray for saint benedict’s table, our priest Jamie Howison, and all our ministry leaders. Bless the ministries connected with this community – Agape Table and West Broadway Centre.

Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that you have given us your holy & blessed word, by which your gather your church. we pray that we may ever receive your Word with thankful hearts, live according to it, and ever increase in faith, hope, and love.
