“Become What You Receive”

“Become What You Receive”

For ten years a community has been gathering every Sunday evening to break bread together, marked by words inspired by St Augustine’s teaching on communion: “Behold what you are; become what you receive.” To mark this milestone anniversary, we’re about to publish Become What You Receive: saint benedict’s table, told and retold. With the primary narrative by Jamie Howison and written reflections by over thirty-five different contributors, the book also includes six full colour plates, featuring both archival material and original photographs by Sarah Hodges-Kolisnyk.

The project was created under the watchful eye of editor and designer Kyla Neufeld, and will be officially released on Sunday October 5 in conjunction with our 10th anniversary 7pm celebration liturgy. Copies of the book will be available that night for the special celebration price of $10, after which they will be available for $12 through the church or $15 by mail… more details on ordering to follow.

Thanks to all who contributed personal stories and reflections:
