Prayers of the People | October 1

In peace, let us pray to the Lord….

Lord, have mercy.

For the peace from above, and for our salvation, let us pray to the Lord….

Lord, have mercy.

For the well being of the church of God and for the unity of all, let us pray to the Lord…

Lord, have mercy.

For this holy house, and for all who offer here their worship and praise, let us pray to the Lord…

Lord, have mercy.

Help, save, comfort and defend us, gracious Lord. Heavenly King, Almighty God and Father we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord, Jesus Christ – only Son of the Father. Lamb of God you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us. You are seated at the right hand of the Father, receive our prayer. For you, alone, are the Holy One. You, alone, are the Lord. You, alone, are the Most High – Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Let us pray to the Lord…

Lord, have mercy.

For healing and true reconciliation between Indigenous peoples of Canada and those of us who are late-comers to this land, that all necessary steps be taken toward this end… Let us pray to the Lord…

Lord, have mercy.

For victims of war, genocide, slavery, and catastrophes around the globe, especially Mexico and the Caribbean, that deliverance will come to all….. Let us pray to the Lord….

Lord, have mercy.

For healing, restoration, and consolation for all who are sick in mind or body, especially those we name before you…… Let us pray to the Lord…

Lord, have mercy.

We confess that many times in the wilderness of our lives we feel deserted by you, our Rock and our Refuge. We complain and quarrel amongst ourselves and to you like small, unknowing children to their parent. In our thirst for you, we forget your faithfulness and we test you over and over again. Forgive us, renew us with life-giving water, and lead us so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Holy name. Let us pray to the Lord…

Lord, have mercy.

Let all who seek the Lord rejoice and proudly bear his name. God recalls his promises and leads his people forth in joy with shouts of thanksgiving. Allelujia. AMEN
