Jenny Moore | house concert

Jenny Moore | house concert

October 24, 2014 found forty of us gathered in the home of Sigrid and Lorne Penner for a house concert by Jenny Moore. The concert was presented as one of a series of events marking the 10th anniversary of saint benedict’s table, though it was really just a happy coincidence that our anniversary season coincided with Jenny’s visit to Winnipeg from her current home in London.

Jenny was one of the musicians who helped us to find our original “voice” as saint benedict’s table. A part of our church from 2005 through to her move to England in the summer of 2007, Jenny not only contributed four songs to our We Will Not be Silent project, she also left us with the seven song solo project Songs for listening to on the train with an excellent set of headphones and an ambivalent heart.

Our portable digital recorder was being a bit cranky the night of the concert, with strange bursts of static intruding on several of the songs… including most of Jenny’s saint ben’s “hits.” We did get some rather nice recordings of a good number of the songs, which we offer here.

We’re unclear as to why Larry Campbell was looking so stern!

Clearly an all-age event…
