Jesse Tree

Jesse Tree

As our closing song for worship on December 16, the Third Sunday of Advent, Gord Johnson and Larry Campbell led the community in singing Gord’s song, “Jesse Tree.” Frankly, it felt like we just about lifted the roof off of the old church building…

Out of the root of the Jesse tree
I’m going to set my people free
Into their desert and into their night
I’m going to send my sweet pure light
And there’ll be peace, joy, hope and love

I would love to use this song in our children’s worship time this Advent. Can you send a chord sheet and permission to use? A beautiful song! Thanks.

I am a liturgist with the local parish. Am very interested in this song to be able to use it at Advent with the Jesse Tree ritual. Please send music/chords?

  4. Love this song! Am telling stories from Jesse Tree for Bloxham Faith and Literature Festival, near Oxford, in February, and would like permission to use the song if possible? If so, could you send music/chords? I’m a vicar in a parish just outside Oxford. My email is vicar@thecampbells.demon.co.uk. Many thanks.
