Music from Good Friday

Music from Good Friday

Over the years we’ve often been fortunate to  have Alana Levandoski lead music for us on Good Friday. From this year’s passion liturgy we’re offering the audio of her song, “There’s No Way Out of Here (Easter Eve),” which originally appeared on her Hymns for the Desert CD. There’s also audio of her leading our community in singing the first  verse of the hymn, “What Wondrous Love is This.”

“There’s No Way Out of Here (Easter Eve)”

Its over now

And we are lost

In a desert without tears

Guess it wasn’t what we thought

Wish we could turn back the years

But there’s no way out of here

There’s no way out of here

There’s no way out of here

Its over now

So say good-bye

But our mouths can’t shape the words

Shut your doors

Don’t even try

’cause no matter what you’ve heard

There’s no way out of here

There’s no way out of here

There’s no way out of here

Come back

Please come back

Wake up

Please wake up

’cause there’s no way out of here

There’s no way out of here

There’s no way out of here

Beautiful! What a perfect lament and a song full of sorrow for Easter Eve! I can’t do Good Friday and Easter Eve without this song now! Thanks Alana!
