Music from Palm Sunday

Music from Palm Sunday

Over the past few years it has become part of our practice to have Gord Johnson and Larry Campbell lead the music on Palm Sunday, ending with Gord’s song “Lord, I Abandoned.” This song makes for a very poignant transition into Holy Week; our first real step into the story we will tell on Good Friday.

Lord I abandoned

You in the garden

sold You for silver

left You forsaken

in Your hour of need

Lord I denied You

mocked and despised You

cried “crucify him”

left You forsaken

in Your hour of need

Jesus I saw You

suffering in silence

no pleas for mercy

only submission

in Your time of need

Jesus remember

me in Your kingdom

I want to be there

with You in glory

You are all I need

Lord in Your mercy

hear my confession

I crucified you

left You forsaken

In Your time of need

I crucified You; I crucified You

I crucified You; I crucified You

In Your time of need
