New music to celebrate the Incarnation

New music to celebrate the Incarnation

This past Sunday, the 2nd Sunday in Christmastide, our music coordinator Larry Campbell introduced a brand new song; so new, in fact, that he had just finished writing it that very afternoon. Based on the prologue to the Gospel according to John (1:1-14), this one moved us from a mere reading of the text to a sung celebration of “the Word made flesh.”

The word became flesh
And dwelt among us
The light was dawning
Shining on us
Full of grace & truth
Full of grace & truth
            And we sing…
Glory in the highest
And on earth, good will to all
And on earth, good will to all
Glory, in excelsis Deo
Glory to God
