Two songs from the liturgy on Sunday April 14, led by a group including Allen Fehr on piano, Charles Garinger on bass, Tatiana Friesen on viola, Andrew Colman on trumpet, Davis Plett on guitar, Larry Campbell on percussion, and Trish Vrolijk and Jodi Penner on vocals.
First up is an original by Trish, with the working title “I will praise your name forever”:
For You alone are worthy, of the glory and the honour, with the angels I cry “Holy Lord” I will praise your name forever, with every breath that I am given I will lift my voice to heaven, and I will praise you
The second song is the one we closed with; a rollicking version of the gospel classic “Hold on the God’s Unchanging Hand”:
time is filled with swift transition, naught of earth unmoved can stand, build your hope on things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hand trust in Him who will not leave you, whatsoever years may bring, if by earthly friends forsaken, still more closely to Him cling Hold to God’s unchanging hand, hold to God’s unchanging hand, build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hand covet not this world’s vain riches, that so rapidly decay, seek to gain the heav’nly treasures, they will never pass away
