We Will Not Be Silent

We Will Not Be Silent

Last night in worship we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our establishment as a mission congregation of the Anglican Diocese of Rupert’s Land, and at the end of communion Larry Campbell led the music ensemble in a rocking, gospel-soaked version of Gord Johnson’s song, “We Will Not Be Silent.” With Allen Fehr on piano, Davis Plett on electric guitar, Tim Plett on bass, and Jaylene Johnson, Catherine Pate, and Krista Wiebe on vocals, the congregation of 230 really managed to raise the roof on this one.

The recording was made on our hand-held digital recorder, so don’t expect studio quality sound or editing… just enjoy how much fun we all had with this great arrangement!

Out of the deep You lift us; Lord we praise Your holy name
Safe from our enemies; Lord we praise …
And when we call for mercy; Lord we praise…
You save us from the grave; Lord we praise…

We will not be silent
Lord, we praise Your holy name
We will not be silent
Lord, we praise Your holy name,

Your anger lasts a moment
But Your favour last for life
With morning comes rejoicing
Though we weep all through the night.

Lord, to You we call for mercy
If we fall where is the gain
For as dust we cannot praise You
Nor Your faithfulness proclaim

From weeping into singing
From sorrow into joy
Lord, our hearts will not be silent
We’ll praise You forevermore
(Gord Johnson)
