Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove preaches

On March 13, we were really pleased to welcome Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove as our guest preacher at our weekly Wednesday night Lenten liturgy. Choosing Luke 4:1-13 as his text, Jonathan wove together a series of stories and personal anecdotes which invited us to consider what it might look like to venture out into a wilderness of temptation and to return with vision and resolve.

Jonathan is a theologian, speaker, and leader in the New Monastic movement. A native of North Carolina, he is a graduate of Eastern University and Duke Divinity School. Jonathan, his wife Leah, and their two children live in Rutba House in Durham, North Carolina; a house of hospitality where the formerly homeless are welcomed into a community that eats, prays, and shares life together.
