Why we do what we do

Why we do what we do

A note from Jamie Howison: It has been my practice at saint ben’s to set aside a Sunday night every couple of years, and to offer something of an interpreted or guided version of our communion liturgy. This year we decided to try to record that running commentary, and punctuated by the sound of our bells and some snippets of the evening’s music, to turn it into a podcast. In this format it runs just over half an hour, whereas the October 19 liturgy itself ran closer to 80 minutes. Still, with the main interpretive sections intact, you can still get a good a sense of why we do what we do in our eucharistic liturgy.
