For a Time Like This: a reading

To provide a little bit of light and hope in the midst of the social distancing required by the Covid-19 pandemic, Kyla Neufeld decided that it would be fitting to read her poetry in this “International Poetry Day.” The Shape of Our Life is a series of eight poems written by Kyla for saint benedict’s table during the summer of 2019. These poems centre around the liturgy, Eucharist and symbols of our worshipping community. The poems were the result of Kyla's term as a saint ben's artist-in-residence.

Along with today’s online reading, we wanted to share a podcast originally released on January 23, 2020, in which Sharon Cadigan engages in conversation with Kyla, and together they unpack the poems and search for even greater depth and understanding of how they reflect the shape of our life.
